Job Description:
SPAR Sri Lanka is seeking friendly, reliable, and customer-oriented individuals to join our team as Cashiers at our Union Place outlet in Colombo. This role is essential to delivering an efficient checkout experience and maintaining high standards of customer service at the point of sale.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate cash registers and handle all payment transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Provide courteous service to customers, addressing inquiries and assisting with purchases.
- Ensure proper handling of cash, credit card, and other payment methods.
- Issue receipts, refunds, and exchanges as per company policies.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the checkout area.
- Monitor stock levels at the counter and report shortages to supervisors.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Adhere to all safety, security, and operational procedures.
Qualifications and Experience:
- GCE Ordinary Level qualification or equivalent.
- Prior experience in a retail cashier or customer service role is an advantage.
- Strong numerical ability and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills in Sinhala or Tamil; English proficiency is an asset.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Flexible to work on shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
