Job Overview

Duties
• Assist in the preparation of a variety of dishes, including salads, main courses, and desserts
• Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistency and quality
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in accordance with food safety standards
• Support the cooking process by preparing ingredients and assembling dishes as directed by senior staff
• Ensure all food is stored correctly and adhere to hygiene regulations at all times
• Assist with serving food to customers when required, providing friendly and efficient service
• Help with inventory management by checking stock levels and notifying supervisors of shortages or expired items
• Contribute to a positive team environment by collaborating effectively with colleagues

Skills
• Previous experience in food preparation or cooking within a restaurant or catering environment is desirable
• Strong knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene standards
• Ability to follow instructions accurately and work efficiently under pressure
• Good organisational skills with attention to detail in meal presentation and cleanliness
• Basic culinary skills including meal preparation techniques and ingredient handling
• Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork and customer interaction when serving
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within a busy kitchen setting
