About the Role
We are hiring a Product Designer to lead the visual and conceptual direction of client projects at Arbitrary. You will translate ideas into sketches, 3D visuals, and mood boards that guide the design-build journey — and act as the bridge between creative vision and engineering feasibility.
You’ll own the creative process up to production handoff, working closely with clients, project managers, and engineers to make ideas feel tangible before they are built.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead the early creative stages of projects including client concepting and visual research
• Develop mood boards, sketches, and 3D mockups that define design direction
• Create compelling visuals for proposals, client presentations, and internal approvals
• Collaborate with engineers to ensure concepts are feasible and production-ready
• Package visual deliverables for smooth handoff to fabrication teams
• Maintain organized design files and track iterations across multiple projects

What We’re Looking For
• 3 plus years of experience in product, industrial, or experiential design
• Strong sketching and visual communication skills
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or Fusion 360
• Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator expertise
• Experience with Blender, Houdini, or Rhino for organic modeling or presentation
• Excellent time and file management
• Comfort working in fast-paced, multi-project environments

What Success Looks Like
• Initial concepts delivered within 3 working days of receiving a brief
• 95 percent of design files ready for engineering with minimal revisions
• Visuals directly influencing client approvals in at least 3 projects per quarter
• 3 to 5 design streams managed in parallel with on-time delivery
• Organized and documented design files across all live projects
• 1 process improvement suggested per quarter to enhance design clarity or workflow
