Position Overview
The Maintenance Assistant Manager plays a key role in ensuring smooth operations by managing the functionality and reliability of the building and its systems. This includes preventive maintenance, repairs, safety checks, and coordination with vendors or contractors when required.
This position requires a hands-on approach, strong technical knowledge in refrigeration and air-conditioning systems, and the ability to respond promptly to maintenance issues. Candidates should be ready to work extended hours, especially during peak operational periods or emergencies.
Key Responsibilities

Support the Maintenance Manager in the day-to-day operations of the maintenance team.

Independently handle troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of HVAC systems, electrical units, plumbing, and mechanical systems.

Inspect and ensure that all refrigeration and air-conditioning units are operating efficiently and safely.

Coordinate with external contractors, vendors, or suppliers when technical services or parts are required.

Maintain a regular schedule for equipment servicing, checks, and repairs to prevent downtime.

Respond to emergency maintenance issues promptly, including out-of-hours breakdowns or malfunctions.

Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, equipment logs, and repair history.

Ensure that the property complies with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Collaborate with housekeeping, kitchen, and front office teams to address facility-related concerns.

Train and guide junior staff or technicians on maintenance best practices and safety protocols.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education & Certifications

NVQ Level 4 in Refrigeration & Air-Conditioning Mechanics or an equivalent technical qualification is required.

Additional certifications in electrical, plumbing, or mechanical systems will be considered an advantage.
Experience

A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in the maintenance field is required.

Previous experience in restaurant, hotel, or hospitality facility maintenance is highly desirable.

Strong technical knowledge in repairing and maintaining air conditioning, refrigeration, and basic electrical and plumbing systems.
