Founded in Calgary in 1982, West Island College is a bilingual, independent day school for student’s
grades 7 through 12. WIC has a student population of over 600 students and boasts outstanding
facilities, extraordinary staff and a central location. WIC’s programs are designed to give students
personalized attention, cultivate their passions and help them achieve excellence.
The substitute teacher is assigned to work in the absence of a regular teacher to aid students in
understanding a subject matter, as well as to provide skills required for programmed lessons and
purposeful training for the classroom assigned. Preferred candidates will be dynamic, collaborative,
inspirational and tech savvy with a track record of transformative teaching.
The substitute teacher must have an Alberta Teaching Certificate and a current Vulnerable Sector
Screening Police Report.
