The Role
The successful candidate will be a skilled classroom practitioner who contributes meaningfully to both student learning and school culture. They will design learning experiences that celebrate student individuality, challenge thinking, and develop essential competencies for success in an ever-changing world.

As we grow into Year 8, we are looking for a History specialist to complement our existing Geography specialist in developing and delivering our Key Stage 3 Humanities curriculum. With our first GCSE cohort on the horizon in August 2028, this role will involve teaching combined Humanities initially before specialising in History in older years.

Candidate Profile

Essential
• A recognised teaching qualification in a Humanities subject (PGCE, QTS, BEd or equivalent)
• A minimum of 2 years teaching experience in a relevant setting
• Evidence of strong teaching practice and student progress
• Alignment with DBSJ’s ethos and commitment to professional reflection and growth
• Willingness to contribute to extra-curricular and whole-school initiatives
• Understanding of data-informed teaching and inclusive strategies
Desirable
• Experience in British or international curriculum schools
• Familiarity with KHDA or DSIB frameworks, including some experience teaching MSC
• Strong track record of curriculum design
• Some years of experience delivering GCSE History
