Supervise and guide the estate supervisor in daily work like tea plucking, worker management, and general upkeep.
Review current farming methods and suggest ways to improve tea leaf quality and yield.
Give advice on using fertilizers and other farming chemicals wisely and cost-effectively.
Manage the business side with the tea factory – negotiate green leaf prices, agree on payments and delivery terms, and review quality feedback.
Ensure all legal rules are followed, including those about workers, land use, environment, and government reporting.
Visit the estate regularly to check the fields, monitor workers, and solve any issues.
Write short monthly reports with updates, results, and suggestions for improvement.

A retired or semi-retired professional with 20+ years of experience managing tea estates, especially in mid-grown regions of Sri Lanka.
Deep knowledge of tea farming, estate operations, and business handling.
Familiar with local labor laws, plantation rules, and environmental guidelines.
Skilled in negotiation and able to work well with tea factories and other partners.
Lives near Kandy or close enough to travel easily to the estate.
Fluent in Sinhala and able to write and speak basic English for reports.
