Job Summary – University of Sharjah

The Full Professor in Interior Design will lead graduate-level teaching, research, and community engagement within the College of Fine Arts and Design.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach full-time graduate courses in interior architecture and adaptive reuse.

  • Guide and academically advise graduate students throughout their programs.

  • Engage in departmental, college, and university-level assignments and events.

  • Lead initiatives for community engagement and academic collaboration.

  • Participate in faculty committees as assigned by the Department Chair or Dean.

  • Conduct and publish scholarly research or artistic works in the field.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge in art, design, and technology-based pedagogy.

  • Foster innovation in teaching methods and subject matter expertise.

  • Support the College’s academic goals and contribute to curriculum enhancement.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • PhD in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.

  • Proven record of scholarly research or artistic publications.

  • Minimum of 5 years of full-time teaching experience in higher education.

  • Expertise in adaptive reuse, design theory, and visual communication.

  • Strong oral and written English communication skills.

  • Experience with educational media, technology, and studio-based learning.

  • Demonstrated leadership and teamwork skills in academic settings.

  • Commitment to mentoring and supporting diverse student populations.
